Ina-Garten
Ina Garten is an American writer of cookery cookbooks as well as Emmy Award-winning host for the Food Network's most popular program, Barefoot Contessa which began broadcasting in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons to 2020. Ina started her career as a writer at the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy documents. In the beginning, she was enthralled by the intellectual challenge of the job, but soon began to lose enthusiasm. Instead, she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty food shop. It took her 18 years to make the business extremely profitable prior to selling it and grabbing a pen to write her first cookbook. A number of other cookbooks and magazine columns were later published. In the meantime she also had her own Food Network show was also an enormous success. In addition, she sells a variety of products ranging from cooking supplies to equipment and storage containers. Ina has never attended a cookery school nor did she work in a restaurant. Ina is a self-taught cook. She is known for her straightforward approach to cooking and effortless entertaining. Her most well-known dishes include Skillet with roasted lemon chicken and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & cheese Beef Bourguignon. Balsamic roasted Brussels Sprouts, Lemon Bars and Mac & cheese.
